Strange but true, fibromyalgia can be fought with Tai Chi Chuan. According to a study conducted by experts at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, directed by Dr. Chenchen Wang, this martial art of Chinese origin can have really healthy effects.
Fibromyalgia syndrome is a disease characterized by chronic widespread muscle pain associated with stiffness, mood and especially sleep disorders, chronic fatigue. The trigger is not known and there is no scientifically proven effective therapy: doctors prescribe only muscle relaxants, antidepressants, dietary supplements, although not always successfully.
Now, however, we could finally turn the page. Experts have found a valid solution in Tai Chi. They examined 66 volunteers, all suffering from fibromyalgia. These were divided into two groups: the first received a program of Tai Chi classes, the second only stretching. The result? The participants in the first group were able to notice a clear reduction in pain, symptoms of fatigue and insomnia, compared to the second.
Yes, this particular gymnastics in fact puts in motion many physical components and also, if practiced correctly, also brings into play the psychological and spiritual ones. As a result, the results are healthy.
